Halasarna, excavation research: Workshop spaces - Auxiliary installations

Part of a clay conduit and part of an open workshop construction

The workshop character of the settlement of Halasarna -in both of its phases- is also demonstrated by the finds, which attest to the existence of workshop facilities. In addition to potsherds fired unsuccessfully, molds for making lamps and jewelry that indicate that workshops were in operation, a series of other auxiliary facilities such as wells, cisterns coated with plaster as well as conduits attest to the small-scale manufacturing that had developed. Recently, a circular structure with a large diameter and reinforced exterior walls has come to light, which strengthens the hypothesis that extensive workshop facilities existed.
