Halasarna, excavation research: The burial complex
A burial complex has been discovered in the southwest end of the excavation site.
At the beguining the settlement is represented by two vaulted burial chambers, which possibly belonged to an influential family of the time. Later, there are more and more mass burials, also including many jar burials. Therefore, this indicates that there is a change in the private character of the burial complex, as the burial needs of the population increase.

The study of the complex in general has provided significant information about burial customs at the time - such as the removal of bones of the deceased, child and multiple burials, especially during periods of great catastrophic events, when mass deaths formed the breeding ground for infectious diseases. In addition, it provides further evidence of the proximity between burial sites and residential areas during this period. It seems, in any case, that the burial complex follows the course of life of the Halasarna settlement from its early years of inhabitation until it was finally abandoned, while also delineating the changes that life underwent in it.
