SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE JANET ZAKOS FOUNDATION, 23/1/2013

FOR DOCTORAL CANDIDATES IN BYZANTINE HISTORY OR BYZANTINE ARCHAEOLOGY OF THE FACULTY OF HISTORY AND ARCHAEOLOGY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ATHENS

 

The Janet Zakos Foundation offers one scholarship of 5,000 Euros for the academic year 2013-2014. Eligible are doctoral candidates in Byzantine History or Byzantine Archaeology of the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Athens.

The amount will be disbursed in two installments. The second installment will be paid after the submission of a Progress Report with supporting evidence to the Graduate Committee, signed by the student and his/her supervisor.

Criteria for selection of candidates:

1. Academic record of the Master's course
2. Financial standing

Required documents:

1. Application
2. Copy of Master's degree certificate
3. Transcript of the Master's courses
4. Curriculum vitae
5. Two letters of recommendation in a sealed envelope.
6. Solemn statement of law 1599/86 that the applicant does not receive a scholarship from any other public or private institution at the same time.
7. Income tax statement of the applicant or, failing that, of his / her parents
8. Cover letter (350 words) including the content, the objective and the course of the research

The application and supporting documents must be submitted to the Secretariat of Postgraduate Studies, Faculty of History and Archaeology (School of Philosophy, 3rd Floor, suite 301, Zografou Campus) until Friday, March 29, 2013.
